Clean Penguins Return to Sea

190 Magellan Penguins have been rescued so far, and 40 found dead, although most believe there were likely far more that didn't make it. The first 50 have been returned to their home ground. From the sounds of it, the culprit who created the spill will never be found.

There are days when I am just about looking forward to us running out of oil -- and it will happen someday. That will end this sort of thing at least.

Speaking of oil, well, sort of. Energy anyway. You have probably noticed that my websites, all of them, have been down off and on for the last three weeks. I apologize, but it was beyond my control.

It was a webhost problem, but also really beyond their control, although they have definately done their best to keep service going. I am in good company - the servers for MySpace are in the same building, and they were down, too. It all has to do, basically, with the heat wave in L.A. (which is where my webhost is based) which caused a brown-out which caused shorts in the building which caused a complete loss of power - sort of a domino effect. Hopefully, the problems are resolved...

Allow me a 10 second sort of political rant about certain people who are still trying to claim that weather changes and global warming is a hoax. Please explain then why my webhost is having major outages due to power problems due to the heat wave after four years of rock solid dependability. Then you can follow that up with an explanation of why my domain registrar is moving their entire business from Florida to Toronto to avoid the service outages caused by last years hurricanes, with more and worse hurricanes predicted for this years hurricane season. As PRO-business as this administration is, they are at some point going to have to take sides with WHICH businesses they are going to support - the automakers and oil companies who say "it isn't real" - or the other businesses who are moving or experiencing major problems due to the weather. *evil grin* End Rant.

No, one more tiny bit. It's pretty damn hot when I won't go outside and bird except in the wee hours of morning and evening.
