Every day...something cool

Not that you could tell it by my entries lately - but every day brings something new and cool to watch out at the ranch or on our way in or out of town.

Just a few days ago we passed a pair of Oryx galloping alongside the highway - startled by our passing.

This morning the Roadrunner dashed across the road ahead of us not far from the ranch house. Boy am I glad I'm still seeing that bird. With all the talk about how many rattlesnakes were on the ranch last year - I'm hoping he hangs around and eats a few of them for us.

The doves finally discovered the feeding station and the flock has tripled in size.

A few days ago I saw and heard the first quail - Scaled Quail.

On Christmas Day we were outside clearing some of those tumbleweeds when I saw a lizard - yes, a little reptile dashing around on Christmas Day. I could definately learn to love this climate.

I know, I know, everyone says wait until I find out how hot it is in summer. But I LIKE the heat...

I had more to say but my brain is mushy today. Hope you are all having a safe and warm winter and seeing lots of wonderful birds.
