I know if you are someone like myself who cares about the earth, nature, wildlife, our resources, and natural health it sometimes gets hard to get up in the morning when all you read or hear is the mainstream news gloom and doom reports.

There is another great blog you should go check out, too. It is called Reason for Hope. There you will find more or less daily GOOD news stories from around the world. Things are just not quite as bad as some people would have us believe.

But then they have learned their lesson from Herman Goering (you know, Hitlers General) who said if you can keep the people frightened they will let you do anything to them as long as you promise to make them safe.

There is no such thing as safe in this world. But there is Happy News and Reason for Hope. You either find security in your own heart and mind, or you will never find it. No outside source can give it to you.

One of the phoebe's just landed on the deck railing outside my window with an insect in her little beak and proceeded to have her lunch. Never got the camera when you need it.

I've been chasing a western meadowlark with the camera for days. She comes up at feeding time and quite casually eats with the horses when I put out their grain. She will walk calmly around until I get back outside with the camera - then off she goes - LOL. *sigh*

I don't want to sound like a whiner, but we really are facing losing this ranch and being homeless once again. What we really need is a little miracle, or even just a few more weeks time, but the people who are pushing the foreclosure are not really interested in that. They are thinking this place will be worth billions when that legendary spaceport goes in up the road. IF it does. So they'd really like to kick off the people who would rather ranch it and live on it and husband it with love in hopes of selling to a developer - even though the Spaceport Authority is trying to make arrangements so that nothing can be built within 20 miles (and we are within that zone). Anyway - all of that aside -

Regardless of whether or not we raise the $4000 or so we need in time to save the place for ourselves, every single penny will help if we have to start looking for another place to live with goats, cats, and so on.

Any contributions are appreciated as we will probably be living in the tent again until we can build up enough money to make deposits and so on or find another place in the country.

Oh hey, before I forget - I was contacted today and asked to link to Bucky's Board from some of my horse websites. I suspect you nature lovers are probably also horse people, some of you anyway, and might be interested in helping Bucky if you can. He is a beautiful buckskin colt who was found crippled and left for throwaway at a sheep auction. Some wonderful people have gotten together and worked really hard to save him. His vet bills are big, but so is his heart. Go visit the site, fall in love, maybe send them a buck or two for Bucky, too. :P
