Even Fairies Get The Blues

I am having a bit of a blue Monday. Winter seems so long, and cold. I’ve had some disappointments this week, too, with one thing and another. I’m a bit of a sad fairy today. Are you?

We must not be alone. I found a few sad goth fairies fluttering around Zazzle, too. Perhaps we should all get together and have a support group. Too emo. Let’s all get together and have a hella drunk party. More fun.

Spring Fairy Art

We have had another little cold wave here in New Mexico, just when I was ready for spring. I thought I’d fight it off by drawing a spring fairy to bring some colorful spring cheer to this grey, rainy day. I’ve put her on a greeting card at Zazzle – so if you’d like a little spring fairy art to brighten up your day, here she is:

I think she would be a great little fairy art card to mail out to someone for Card Reading Day on Feb. 21st. In general, I’m kind of against those made up holidays that I feel are just there to make you spend money, but I’ve changed my mind about this little known Card Reading Day. Tinkerbell Jewelry

By and large I find the pixies around here agree with Racheal Morgan that Tink is a Disney whore.

But the fact is that, thanks to Disney, Tinkerbell is one of the most well known, recognized, and loved fairies in the world. To many people she IS fairy.

Blessed Imbolc

Whether you are celebrating Imbolc or Brighid’s Day or St. Brighid’s Day today (or tomorrow or the next day!) may the seeds of effort you plant be quickened into the success and prosperity you desire.

 

I was going to take the entire day off to play games and hang out with the husband and a friend. During my morning meditation it came to me that, although I’ve blessed our little yard and the inspiration for a container garden we hope to plant this year, and I’ve cleaned the house and invited the Goddess in, it would behoove me to also begin a couple of projects I have been incubating, as well as touch a few that are already growing with blessings. And so I am going to work a little today. Just not all day long.

This is a lick and a promise – really, I will get back to this project. Pretty up this blog and add many many pages of wonderful fairy links and information and art and good things. It is a fact that when it comes to art, writing and webpage design that you will think something will take a day, and then it takes a week. I am touching everything with a bit of fairy sprinkles today. Tomorrow I will return with renewed purpose.

May you have a blessed Brighid’s Day and may your work this day bring you abundance and blessings all year long.
