Pranks, Tricksters, and a plea for help

I've been working like a maniac on things for APRIL. I know, but the Google dance will be probably today or this weekend anyway and I need my new April Fools and Trickster pages to go into the index BEFORE the first of April so -

I haven't really gone and worked on stuff for Prank Place for a while. I had a blast. They've really gotten a ton of neat t-shirts (although that doesn't really count as pranks) not to mention a bunch of new pranks. Anyway, I won't bug you with all that here - here's the new pages:

So much for the shameless self-promotion. Oh no - one more. I happened to discover that my old Vegetarian Blog is number two result if you Google "vegetarian blog". It got a nice and much needed update and facelift. A lot of the links were gone, kaput, whatever so if you have a good vegetarian resource that would maybe exchange links, let me know.

And one last thing. Sigh. I really hate to do this.

So - the deadline passed, they made noises like they'd negotiate. Third went in and talked to them and they gave us until March 15th to catch up. THEN mailed a letter that said we had until TODAY (which we got two days ago) to catch up or go into foreclosure. There is a mild undercurrent of panic here - to say the least. We've explored the Operation Lifeline (no help) and every other little program and thing we can find. No help. Third cannot get a loan because...get this...he has no credit cards, his trucks are both paid off free and clear, and he has no personal loans. Yes, that's it - he can't get a loan because he doesn't owe anyone. And never does. He's got close to $100,000 invested in this place and is about to lose it over less than $5000 in back payments plus court costs, lawyers fees, taxes to be paid early, insurance to be paid in advance all lumped on top of it now. We are talking about a man here who served as a Navy Seal for eight years, who has served as a volunteer fireman in this community for darn near 30 years. I could go on, but the short version is he is a good man who just naturally feels that he owes the world his service and has lived his life accordingly - and he's about to lose everything he has.

People - us - who want to own this place because we love it, we love the desert, we love the wildlife, we want to husband and improve the place and ranch here - we're about to lose it because some rich fucker wants to play land speculator and hope he can sell it for mega bucks when (if) that damn spaceport opens up because you KNOW a whole bunch of rocket scientists are going to move out here and build McMansions. *rolling eyes*

I'm not here to whine, but I am asking for help if you happen to be able to do so. Even if it isn't enough or in time to save the ranch, it could still ease the way to finding a place for our family and our animals to go to. I'm not asking for handouts - purchases at my Zazzle store pay me a 7% royalty. Purchases at Prank Place also help a great deal. Surfing my little web empire, clicking on any ads that interest you, all that helps. Linking to my websites helps, too. If you are able to do so, a loan, donation, etc. would surely be appreciated. You can eMail me

I just thought that since I have donated so much artwork to the greyhound charities (and others), allowed people to use my art and clipart for free for businesses and charities and hobbyists, that perhaps those people whom I have given to freely might be somewhat interested in helping me out in my time of need.

We will survive, we always do. But I would very much like to help my roomie keep the ranch if it is at all possible. In my case, I will go back to living in the tent on the state park before I move into town. But this means I will have to rehome my goats, chickens, and at least some of the cats. I may have one or two other places that I can go - and I will be checking on them in the next few days. At this point, the deadline is passed - pretty much - but at the same time, the lawyer hasn't filed yet.

Meanwhile, it's spring, I'm running around in shorts, the chickens are laying, the horses and goats are dashing around acting full of themselves, the Internet speed is back up to par (yay), and - for the moment - life is good.

Blessedbe
