Pearls Predictions for 2005

She snarled at me. Something about why should she care. I pointed out that she is a professional psychic now. People depend on her. People hang on her every meow.

She conceded that was true. As well it should be.

I told her it was expected.

She sighed a big, put upon sigh. And parted with Pearlies Predictions for 2005:

Pearlies human will complete the Pearlie Tarot Deck (or Pearl will puke on the bed every day until she does)

All humans owned and cared for by cats will survive and prosper and have greater happiness and contentment than poor, non-cat owned (stray) humans.

California will sink, Atlantis will rise, and the west coast cat-owned humans will sail out to greet the Atlantians assuming they listened when their cats told them to buy a boat.

The Christians will be terribly disappointed when the Middle East conflict doesn't turn into Armageddon, because of all the New Agers, Buddists, Hindus, and Pagans and others who are praying for peace. God and the Goddess sit down and discuss it and decide to spare us all one more time. (Pearl would like to point out that the future is never written in stone so keep those candles burning)

Intelligent, moral, educated Americans stage a mass exodus from the United States, from which Europe, Canada, and other countries will greatly benefit while the U.S. slowly sinks to the level of a third world country for lack of anyone who can fix anything more complicated than a bicycle.

I asked her what about election predictions, the environment, global warming, the extension of the Patriot Act, gay marriage? She yawned at me and showed me her back end, flipping her tail in that way she has when she is feeling too polite to actually laugh in my face.

Then she smiled over her shoulder and reminded me our hearts are always free. And those of us clever enough to visit Pearlie's site are perfectly capable of thinking for themselves, predicting the future, and working to change it.
