Eat localEspecially right now, with today's gas prices in the United States, this is something you should think about. I know you are sick of me telling you to buy from your local farmers, find the local farmers markets, look for the guy on the corner with his truck loaded with watermelons, but you'll do yourself and the earth a favor. Locally grown foods will cost less. I even discovered last year that as gas prices rose in the summer time, the organic produce at my local snotty health food store was the same price, or LESS than the same produce - not organic and trucked in from who knows where - in the supermarket! This ties in, of course, with my other little song about eat with the seasons - you will find many wonderful fruits and veggies in season now, fresh and bursting with goodness. As the weather gets warmer and warmer I eat more and more raw food - fresh and crisp from the refrigerator or at room temp if it stores better that way. Good eating!
