If you purchase Nature Burger in the box, you've seen this recipe for the Nature Burger loaf. If you haven't tried it, do! It's delicious! But I'd like to make a few suggestions...
So the recipe for Nature Burger Loaf in my recipe book reads like this:
- 1 box Nature Burger
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 3 stalks chopped celery
- 1 diced green pepper
- 1/3 chopped black olives
- 1 Tbsp oil or butter
- 1 can chopped tomatoes with onions and garlic, OR the italian seasonings
- 1 small can of tomato sauce for topping
- A sprinkle of Parmesan or shredded cheddar for topping
Prepare the Nature's Burger as directed on the box, leaving out a bit of the water. Saute the chopped onion, garlic, celery, and green pepper in oil or butter. Mix the sautee'd vegetables plus black olives and chopped tomatos with the burger mix and press into a non-stick loaf pan. Top with tomato sauce and cheese. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 375 degrees.
I've even fed this to diehard carnivores and gotten a favorable rating. Surround it with the usual veggies like mashed potatoes and corn or green beans for a delicious meal.
