Turmeric found to fight cancer!I've always been a food adventurer. I love to try new foods. So when I first found an Indian food restaurant in a small town I was living in way back in 1987 or so, I had to try it. Those delicious spices and the wonderful variety of vegetarian delights were heaven to me. Some years later, I had to move away and the new city did not (at that time) have an Indian restaurant. I couldn't give up my goodies, so I looked until I found some Indian food recipe books. Let me just say that my number one favorite is A Taste of India by Madhur Jaffery. Her recipes are clear and easy to follow and she gives excellent instructions for any part of the process that you might feel unfamiliar with. I even worked my way up to making homemade Samosas. Mmmmmm... Madhur Jaffrey has a number of Indian food cookbooks out now, and they're all available to purchase online. You can buy all the spices and ingredients online, too. When I first started cooking Indian food here in the Midwest, I had a lot of problems finding the necessary ingredients. Now I am spoiled - I have two, yes TWO, Indian grocery stores here in the city. And of course, a trip to the Indian grocery store means a piece of fresh Baklava. Okay, now I'm hungry... Good eating!
